Aintree is the home of legends, the runners and riders who have triumphed in the Grand National, the world's most talked about race, watched by over 70,000 racegoers and some 600 million people worldwide.

Nothing can compare with the romance of the National; as well as being the most famous chase in the world it's also one of the biggest tests for racehorse and rider. Two circuits of the iconic Grand National course – a total of 30 fences over a distance of four miles, three furlongs and 110 yards - await the 40–strong field as they strive to complete the course and compete for one of the biggest prize pots in chase racing. Witness at first hand the atmosphere and anticipation which starts early on Grand National day, complete with the pomp and ceremony which befits any great British sporting institution, and the parade of Grand National Champions, returning to Aintree on a day that wrote their names in the history books.

The Grand National is a national treasure, both enthralling and fascinating, and memories are made on Grand National Day that last a lifetime.

Steeplechase Enclosure

This enclosure provides prime viewing of the first fences of the Grand National Course, unreserved seating, and with a relaxed dress code, offers a unique outdoor Grand National experience. Although this area does not give access to the Parade Ring side of the racecourse, the Steeplechase Enclosure has an atmosphere all of its own. This area is inclusive of its own bars, catering, betting facilities, big screen viewing and live entertainment.

Tattersalls Enclosure (£30pp supplement)

This popular enclosure is the largest and most atmospheric enclosure at Aintree. Allows access to view the Parade Ring, the Winner's Enclosure and Red Rum lawn. Ticket holders also have access to the Irish Bar, live music in the Aintree Pavilion, tote betting, plus big screen viewing. The Aintree mound provides viewing of the closing stages of every race.

Dress Code

Although there is no official dress code at Aintree, smart is preferable and is often adopted. Indeed, many people view their trip to the races as an opportunity to showcase their favourite race day outfit. Hats are optional, but are frequently worn.

Sports clothes and fancy dress are not permitted at The Grand National Festival.
