Royal Ascot on Ladies' Day & Oxford

Price from £169.95 per person*
Departs 21st Jun 2017

Single person supplement : £30.00 per person

Royal Ascot is a national institution and the premier sporting and social event in the summer calendar. Each year in June, tradition, pageantry, fashion and style come together in a glorious confection at one of the most beautiful racecourses in the country right next to Windsor Great Park. The quality of the horseracing is simply outstanding with millions in prize money on offer over the five days.

We will take you there on Gold Cup Day (colloquially known as Ladies' Day) where top class thoroughbreds and world–famous jockeys compete in six races including the legendary Gold Cup, a battle of stamina and determination over two miles and four furlongs and one of the most sought after prizes in flat racing. You will also experience Royal Ascot's unique focus on fashion and fun, and although the whole week of Royal Ascot is a fashion show like no other, it is Ladies' Day when the designer creations and millinery masterpieces reach their zenith and the elegance of the ladies' outfits is matched only by the flair of their hats!

Wednesday Following an early morning departure from your local area, we will begin the journey towards Royal Ascot and have a stop at Oxford where you will have some free time to look around. We will carry on to your hotel in the late afternoon, arriving in good time for you to freshen up before dinner and your overnight stay.

Thursday After a full English breakfast we will depart for Ascot Racecourse, arriving in plenty of time for you to enjoy the pre–race atmosphere and facilities. Your included ticket is for the Windsor Enclosure , and here you will find a vibrant atmosphere with lots of bars, artisan food stalls, big screen TVs, live musical entertainment, seating, lawned areas - and lots of places to lay your bets! Following the arrival of Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Procession at around 2pm, you will have an excellent view of the home straight in all the afternoon's races, including the Gold Cup, one of the most celebrated events in the horseracing calendar. The final race of the afternoon is at around 5.30pm, and after this we will depart for the journey home.

Windsor Enclosure (formerly Silver Ring)

The Windsor Enclosure is the one the horses pass first on their way down the home straight when racing begins. The atmosphere in the Windsor Enclosure is always vibrant with guests enjoying betting facilities, artisan food stalls, Champagne and Pimm's bars, and picnics on the lawn. From Thursday onwards, live music plays into the early evening. The Windsor is an informal area of Royal Ascot, but many racegoers choose to dress smartly for the occasion, and this is encouraged. Replica sports shirts are not permitted.

Queen Anne Enclosure (formerly Grandstand)

For a supplement of £40pp you can upgrade to a Queen Anne Enclosure ticket. This gives access to the Lower Grandstand, lawns and Concourse, and the Parade Ring and track are both within a short walking distance. From the Queen Anne Lawns racegoers will be able to watch Her Majesty The Queen arrive in her Royal Procession, and a military band will perform in the Parade Ring shortly before the racing starts. In the Queen Anne Enclosure the dress code is more prescriptive; men are required to wear a suit, shirt and tie, and ladies must wear smart, modest clothing with a hat, headpiece or fascinator. Very revealing or transparent clothing is not permitted; please see the Ascot Racecourse website at www.ascot.co.uk for more detailed information.

Here are some example hotels or similar ones that we use for this break, actual availability may change with the travel date you choose.
